What would we do without Pinterest?

Pinterest is a great place to get ideas for just about everything.  (It's also good indicator of what your current obsession is.)  Now that I've gotten some art and craft projects done for the gallery, I've been decorating around the house for Christmas.  I found a wreath made of burlap ribbon on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try.  I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.  Now I just need to get it on the front door!

Snow Globes

Here are the newest projects for Christmas. Handmade snow globes are fun and frustrating (at least the first time around.) But now that I've got the hang of it, I'll make some improvements for the next batch.

More Christmas

I was in the Bibelot shop the other day when two women were complaining about them having Christmas decorations up already.  (Side note-the Bibelot does Christmas really well!) I just gotta say, I love getting ready for Christmas.  It's great being an artist or crafter because you get to start thinking about it in August and really getting your hands dirty by October! Christmas comes and goes too fast and I want to make it last as long as possible. Here are some things I've been working on for Paper Hat.

Art for My God Daughter

My God Daughter is turning one in a few days.  I wanted to make something special for her, so I made this shadow box with her name.

Getting Ready For Christmas

Paper Hat has asked it's artists to make Christmas decorations so I've been busy crafting. I had some old wine corks and thought they would make great mushrooms. I'll be posting more of the decorations in the next few weeks.

Stitched Up

This is a fun little painting (the best kind) that I did on some salvaged wood from the fire pit.

Butterfly Proverb

I saw this proverb and really liked it.  I drew it out by hand but after numerous attempts I just couldn't get the colors right.  So I scanned the drawing into Illustrator and finished it there. This one is now framed and hoping to end up at Paper Hat.

Summer Projects

It's been quite some time since I've posted any new projects but I have gotten a few things done this summer.  These are altered Altoid tins.  (First time making them.)

Here a few new items that I've recently finished. Hoping to hear back from a shop in Minneapolis about showing them.  I've got two more leads after that to follow up on so here goes!

Another Shadow Box

I finished this a while ago but it's taken some time to frame.  This Bull Terrier is just enjoying a spring day!

A Few Recent Doodles

Here are a couple of recent drawings/doodles.  I've been researching greeting card companies to see if what I'm drawing might fit that format
