A Little Look at Halloween

This was an altered match box that I did for a friend who loves all things Halloween!

Getting My Craft On!

Christmas is coming and that means it's time make to stuff! Some for Paper Hat and some to give to friends and family.  (And one or two to keep?)

New Art for Fall

Here are a few paintings recently completed.  (I've been experimenting with wood burning techniques.) It's really fun and so far no fire alarms have gone off in the house!

Some Pieces from the Paper Hat Show

Once again, I'm behind in posting my latest projects.  These are some highlights from the exhibit at Paper Hat in Minneapolis, showing until October 8th.

Oh Bats!

I'm feeling like fall, even though it's been over 90 degrees for more than a week. Came up with the idea of needle felted flying bats having fun while the moon looks on.

Needle Felting Fun

I've been spending time (since February) getting ready for an art show at Paper Hat in Minneapolis.  After finishing 16 new paintings, I got burnt out so decided to try something completely different. Here are the first of my needle felting projects.  It's more fun than I thought it would be and I'm hoping to keep on with it.

By the way, the show opens at Paper Hat on August 24th. Stay tuned for more information on that.

I really gotta post more..........

I looked at my blog this morning and much to my chagrin, realized it's been 4 months since I've posted anything.  I guess I'm a bad blogger........but I have been working on lots of new art projects.
Here are a few "new" items. I'm also getting ready to be artist of the month at Paper Hat in Minneapolis. I'll post details about that soon. (Now that I've said it, I'm committed to another post!)

Happy 2013! Sometimes as an artist, it's hard to find new subjects to get excited about. At the start of the year I found myself going through one of those phases and I started thinking about the things I was drawing when I had my first show after college.  I was using houses as metaphors then so I thought I'd resurrect that idea and try a new medium.
I'm not nearly as serious now, but I think these houses turned out well and have been a springboard for other new projects, which I'll post soon.
